Hadronic Decays of Excited Heavy Quarkonia
We construct an effective Lagrangian for the hadronic decays of a heavy excited s-wave-spin-one quarkonium into its ground state. We show that reasonable fits to the measured invariant mass spectra in the J/ψ and Υ systems can be obtained working in the chiral limit. The mass dependence of the various terms in the Lagrangian is discussed on the basis of a quark model.
متن کاملMixing of Scalar Glueball and Scalar Quarkonia
The isosinglet scalar mesons f0(1710), f0(1500), f0(1370) and their mixing are studied. Two recent lattice results are employed as the starting point; one is the approximate SU(3) symmetry in the scalar sector above 1 GeV for the connected insertion part without qq̄ annihilation, and the other is the scalar glueball mass at 1710 MeV in the quenched approximation. In the SU(3) symmetry limit, f0(...
متن کاملScalar nonet quarkonia and the scalar glueball: mixing and decays in an effective chiral approach
We study the strong and electromagnetic decay properties of scalar mesons above 1 GeV within a chiral approach. The scalar-isoscalar states are treated as mixed states of quarkonia and glueball configurations. A fit to the experimental mass and decay rates listed by the Particle Data group is performed to extract phenomenological constraints on the nature of the scalar resonances and to the iss...
متن کاملScalar Glueball, Scalar Quarkonia, and their Mixing
The isosinglet scalar mesons f0(1710), f0(1500), f0(1370) and their mixing are studied. We employ two recent lattice results as the starting point; one is the isovector scalar meson a0(1450) which displays an unusual property of being nearly independent of quark mass for quark masses smaller than that of the strange, and the other is the scalar glueball mass at 1710 MeV in the quenched approxim...
متن کاملHeavy Quarkonia Spectroscopy and Decays
The experimental status of stable bound states made out of heavy quarks is reviewed. The need for a way to deal with the non-perturbative transitions involved calls for precision measurements on one hand, and for discovery of as yet undetected states to confirm predictions on the other. In this article, recent experimental contributions to heavy quarkonia spectroscopy and decay will be reviewed...
